Our Vote/Change

Hello all!

It is a long time since I made a blog entry.  Guess maybe it is time to start again.

First, I am concerned about the meaning of our Vote in the America now.  It seems in California the people voted in a very pubilized election to NOT ALLOW GAY MARRIGES in their State.  But it seems if our vote does not go the way the liberals think it should, the judges step in and throw out the vote, which is what they are trying to do in California.

This should actually make even the liberals concerned, unless of course what they really want is a socialist society where there is no vote.

We really need to pay attention, and be sure our vote in this once great country still has some meaning.

Next-- all the talk about Change.  Well, it isn't looking good. What we really need in the way of change is a return to the old fashioned principles this country was built on.  Honesty, trust, especially In God We Trust (read our founding documents, and even our money!).

If you want an honest CEO, teach him morality and honesty as a child.  If you want an honest CEO, be sure there is a negative consequence to dishonesty!

Currently we aren't allowed to teach morals, and we are rewarding the dishonest and /or immoral behavior of the rich and famous.

Let's get back to basics.

Think about it.

And Thank God for all you have.  We espcially have a great country.  Let's not lose it.  All that talk last election about "other issues" is already proving itself quite wrong.  We have refunded abortion and stem cell research, and are looking at the passage of FOCA.

What we need is a return to the basics.  Honesty, morality, and consequences to our actions! In God We Trust!

God Bless You All

King Nebuchadnezzar

In my morning prayer time I read a passage from the Book of Daniel (Ch.3) that I wanted to share.

King Nebuchadnezzar was a great king, and Shadrach, Meshach, & Abednego served him well.  But when it came to abandoning their faith, even if only symbollically, and worshipping or bowing to the golden calf, they refused.  They were aware the great harm this would cause them personnally, but they put thieir faith first.  And so they were thrown  into the firey furnace.  As we know, God rescued them unharmed, and King Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed the greatness of their God.

This is a familiar story in the Bible, although the outcome is not always so clearly joyous.  We know many Christians were martyed because they  would not abandon their faith, even for a great king.  The persecution of Christians by the great Roman empire comes to mind.  But for their perseverance God has rewarded them in heaven.

A pro-abortion platform is clearly contrary to the teachings of our faith when a pro-life platform is available.  "Other current issues" do not supercede this intrinsic evil as defined by the Church.

Anyone who has  stood their round and not abandoned the precepts of their faith, even when faced with a promise of economic gain, should be proud.  It may seem difficult when the cause was "lost", but think  of the fiery furnace or the Roman colosieums-- we have it easy.  And the cause is never really lost for us if we have kept our faith.  God is watching.

So be proud if you held fast to your faith and morals.  And pray for God's mercy for those who abandoned their faith for the promise of economic security and gain.

And of course we wish and pray for the success of our new leaders.  May God guide them and soften their hearts with respect to life.  Without a respect for life and solid morals, success can only be temporary.  Look to history-- the fall of the great but immoral dynasties, such as the Roman empire, and the colpase of commumism already in so many places.

So pray always for the success of these new leaders, based on a Change in heart towards life itself.  We wish and pray for their permanent success, not just a temporary success.

Everyday Holiness

Most of the saints in heaven were regular folks like you and me, not "superstars" of this world.

"Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough." (Lk.13:24)

It is not enough to be a "basically good person."  Sometimes we do things we think don't hurt anyone else, but if God told us not to do these things, there must be a reason.  And maybe we are hurting someone we are not even aware of.  So in addtion to being "basically good", we must truly live the commandments God gave us!  He gave us them so we could live them, not ignore them.  And he wants us to live all of them.  Even when it is difficult or unpopular.  And He wants us to love and help those in need.

Of course we will have failures-- that is human!  But don;t use that as an excuse to give up.  Stand-up and keep going!  It is the over-all nature of our life and lifestyle that will matter, not an isolated failure.

So is there an impediment in your life keeping you from God?  Remove it.  Don't stay isolated from God.  Remove the pediment and reunite with God.  You can change the world by beginning to make a change in your own life first.  Then you will be able to extent a hand to those who need your help.

Live God's commandments, even when difficult or unpopular.

Your first test wil be this week-- Election Day.

VOTE FOR LIFE.

PS.  I am confused.  Californians have a proposition against same sex marriage.  They have been fighting hard for it to pass, and I commend them highly for this effort.  The polls show it to be close, but they are ahead.  Great.  But then does it make any sense for them to also vote in Obama, who will push a Federal mandate over-riding their State position against gay-marriage?  Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!!  And yet the polls show them heavily supporting Obama!!

Elections: High Emotions

Emotions are running very high now on this election, and I have so many thoughts.  I will try to stay focused, but excuse me if I do go off on a tangent.

Spend & tax

Many of Obama's programs sound wonderful.  And individually, they may  be.  But when you put them all together, you have a hugh spending package.  Now there are only two ways to get the money to spend like this.  One is to tax all of us middle class.  The promise may be that we won't be  taxed, but ultimately there is no other place to get the money, and history has proven that.  (As well as common sense.)

Alternatively, the government could print more money, devaluing the American dollar even worse then it is now.  Ultimately, we the people pay.

And let's talk about spending frenzies.  Obama's campaign has out-spend McCain about 4 times, and has almost doubled any other presidential campaign.  This to me shows an uncontrolled spending trend that has started in the campaign, and will continue into the presidency, by his own promise of all these programs!  And yet  media does not concentrate on this spending frenzy, nor do they investigate on what this money is being spent on.  Instead, they continuously report on the spending of the McCain campaign.  McCain spent a lot less, but to hear the press you won't know that.  Again they push their own agenda.

We the people

Our constitution is for WE THE PEOPLE, not WE THE GOVERNMENT.  The extreme invasion of Obama's policies into every facet of our lifes would make government soley responsible for our life.  We would have little say in our own life.  Is this what we want?  In addition, the media has been feeding us only the information it wants us to have so that the media is controlling us to vote the way they want us to, which is obviously Democractic.  They want a Democractic President, Senate, and House of
Representives.  No checks and balances.  No one to stop the one group from doing whatever it wants.  Obama at the head-- the person with no experience, no records, and questionable background.  Biden with the tie breaking vote in the Senate, and Pelosi in the House!  Now there is a team!  Both of these have already  been cited by the Vatican as less than honest!!  and they both claim to be Catholic! Do you want them in charge?

Let's take back our country-- VOTE FOR JOHN MCCAIN. You may not like everything about him, but his integrity is without question, and his years of service and experience are exactly what we need.

Way, Truth, & Life

Have you heard that Jesus is the Way, Truth, & Life?  I hope so-- it is in the Bible.  But what does that mean?  You can apply this phrase to everything in your life, and so I will try to apply it to the Pro-Life issue as I see it.

Truth is the teachings of Jesus and the Church on an issue.  On abortion, this is pretty clear.  The angel Gabriel came to Mary and "she was with child".  Right then at that moment.  Not six months or 9 months later.  Right at the first moment.  And Jesus said to love all, especially the children.  And God said thou shalt not kill.  What more do we need to hear?  I already brought out last week the CCC teachings against abortion.

The Vatican as also spoken out.  In Living the Gospel of Life (John Paul II) were are told  "There are some things we must never do...because they are always incompatible with the Love of God..  These are intrinsically evil actions... They must always  be rejected and opposed... a prime example is abortion.."

In addition, the Vatican has directly addressed American politics when earlier this month the Prefect of the Vaticans Supreme
Court of the Apostolic Signiture (formerly Archbishop of St Louis) singled out Joe Biden and Pelosi as "misrepresenting the Catholic teaching".  He also stated the Democractic Party was "transforming itself into a Party of Death"!!  Notice the media did not report on this, as it did not suit their agenda.  They found the cost of clothes more important then the Vatican and a Party of Death!

So the Truth is obvious.  What about Way?  Way is what we do about the truth.  It is the way we Vote.  The policies we support.  Do we say we are Catholic and then go against the teachings of the Church as Joe Biden does?  Or are we really Catholic?  If you want to listen to the teachings of Jesus, the Church, the Popes, etc, you have no choice but to vote against abortion.  Stand up for what you really believe and for what is right.

Finally, Life is our relationship with Jesus and the Church.  Our relationship with God starts now-- don't wait until later, as you never know the time or place.  Don't let your faith be a lie.  Voting may be private, but think of Jesus standing there in the booth with you.  He will know how you voted, even if no one else knows. One day you will have to stand before God.  Will you be trying to explain why you did nothing while His children were being killed?  Or will you be able to say I did all I could to help.
